4th BPI Conference was a success!

17 Oct 2008

The fourth edition of Vlerick’s Business Process Innovation conference on 16 October turned out to be a huge success. With over 250 executives attending this conference, a large and diverse community of managers and decision makers was gathered in Brussels. In total more than 25 presentations - spread over five parallel tracks - provided the participants the possibility to customise their conference experience and to get new insights, enlightening ideas and useful frameworks.

Each day we find ourselves confronted with a myriad of opportunities and threats for our organisation. Each of them seems to be demanding our immediate and undivided attention, which requires an integrated approach to business process innovation.

Vlerick’s Business Process Innovation conference tackled three complementary management disciplines:

  • Execution and improvement of your business processes through Business Process Management (BPM).
  • Selection and implementation of the necessary improvement initiatives, through Enterprise Project Management (EPM).
  • Knowledge discovery & management on both current performance as future improvement areas, through Business Intelligence (BI).

State-of-the-art topics were presented by industry practitioners and discussed in round-table sessions led by faculty of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. Also, new insights stemming from research was presented by domain experts and faculty of international universities and business schools. In addition, a solution showcase track was presented on the edge technologies in BPM, EPM and BI.

The conference featured keynote presentations from Marc Kerremans (Research Director Gartner) and Alec Sharp (BPM expert). Furthermore, Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School invited top international guest speakers to share their insights and experiences:

  • Edward Peters, Dallas, United States
  • Prof Dr Peter Rittgen, Borås, Sweden
  • Doug Drolett, Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom
  • Jerry Stevens, North Carolina, United States
  • Dirk Gemke, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
  • Marco Van der Poel, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

The conference delivered an unequalled faculty of academics, industry pioneers, thought leaders, visionaries and down-to-earth practitioners from leading organisations in the fields of BPM, EPM and BI. Based on the feedback of this year's participants, we can conclude that the conference was a success. You were unable to attend this year?
