Welcome to our new international Spanish chapter and meet our chapter head
A short inquiry by Laurent Verhelst (MGM/PUB 1996) amongst our more than 20 Alumni in Spain showed great enthusiasm to set up a chapter in the capital of the country. Laurent who works at Stanley Black & Decker in Madrid will head the chapter.
The enthusiasm shown led to kicking off this opportunity right away taking into consideration the input from fellow Vlerick boys & girls. The initial meeting took place at the Atelier Belge in Madrid.
Laurent got together with Ana Alfonso and Fernando Sandoval Cuervo (MBAL 1996). The Chapter is looking forward to organising content evenings, cultural events, simple drinks, debates with other Belgium groups in Madrid and much more.
Stay tuned, as we will keep you posted on our upcoming events!
Want to become an alumni ambassador in the world?
We are always looking for new Vlerick alumni ambassadors around the world, meaning you would be willing to answer questions from prospective students, as well as fellow alumni that are interested in doing business in your home country. If this sounds like something you would be willing to help out with, please contact Mr Geert Fiers.
Bert Van Genechten, a Supply Chain Management alumnus of 2006, joined the Chinese Chapter as liaison officer for Shanghai. He testifies:
“With Vlerick Business school growing internationally, so are the Alumni spreading their wings over the world. In Shanghai, Vlerick Alumni allows those Alumni in Shanghai to link back to the Vlerick base, hear what is happening at Vlerick and sharing experience about local business in China and international cooperation. It’s more a group of friends coming together from time to time. A nice point to keep in touch…”
