‘Managing for Performance Excellence’ – first multimedia-enhanced management book in the iBookstore

‘Managing for Performance Excellence’, a recently published book (in English) by the Vlerick professors Regine Slagmulder, Kurt Verweire and Koen Dewettinck, has recently also been made available as a multimedia-enhanced eBook for the iPad in Apple's iBookstore. This digital edition was specially produced for the iBooks app on the iPad and uses the very latest Apple technology for multimedia eBooks.

This is not just another digital book. The print version of the book was specially enhanced with additional interactive material such as photos, video summaries, diagrams, background literature, explanations of key concepts in the text, useful hyperlinks, etc. This digital management book with enhanced content is the first of its kind to be offered in the iBookstore.

As well as the additional interactive content, the book also offers all the usual advantages of iBooks. For example, you can add personal notes to passages of text. You can also insert bookmarks or mark your favourite sections in the book. The built-in search engine allows you to search the entire book for specific keywords. And you can easily flip through the book using the built-in navigation.

Steven Van Tittelboom, ePublishing Product Manager at Uitgeverij Lannoo: “This innovative edition is the result of the close and fruitful collaboration between Uitgeverij Lannoo and Vlerick Business School. ‘Managing for Performance Excellence’ is a new type of digital manual which offers far more options than a paper book: you can watch videos, there are additional illustrations, you can look up the definitions of terms in the book as well as looking at examples from the book online, and there's a handy tool to save interesting sections of text and your own notes in your book…”

‘Managing for Performance Excellence’ is also available in digital (non-enhanced) form as a Kindle eBook through Amazon and through eBook stores such as Bol.com, Proxisazur.be and E-boek.org.
