Why studying in Russia?
The fascination of Russia
Today,
Russia is one of the world’s prominent dynamic markets, increasingly attracting
major companies and multinationals that open offices and develop their business
here. This proliferation of new enterprises and international manufacturers
places higher requirements on personnel. The education offered at the St.
Petersburg Campus of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School enables those
aspiring to become managers, as well as practicing managers at all levels of an
organisation, to acquire knowledge and improve their skills in order to meet the
growing demands of Russia’s business world.
Enrolling in the Executive MBA programme at St. Petersburg is not only an opportunity to acquire a premiere business education but also a chance to experience this unique country. The programme is conducted in English by Vlerick professors, and the course materials, lectures and degree diplomas are equivalent to those in Leuven and Ghent.
Studying in St. Petersburg
Our
St. Petersburg programme offers studies in a modular format that is
unquestionably advantageous for businesspeople. The schedule of lectures allows
participants based not only in St. Petersburg but in other regions as well to
follow the MBA course successfully.
Living in St. Petersburg during the programme also makes it possible to go sightseeing. This Russian “Venice of the North” is steeped in the history of preceding centuries, arousing the interest and admiration of tourists and foreign specialists and researchers alike. For newcomers, the city offers a wealth of famous museums and exhibitions, theatres and sports events, as well as national cultural and traditional events.
The city, often called “Russia’s cultural capital”, was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great, Russia's famous first Emperor. For more than 200 years, St. Petersburg was the country’s capital city and the main residence of the ruling dynasty. The city combines its perfectly planned geometric architecture – which is almost too European to be Russian – with its fascinating heritage – which is too Russian to be European. During the 18th and 19th centuries, eminent European and Russian architects built great palaces, cathedrals and parks in St. Petersburg. Today’s modern city contains nearly 100 palaces from Russia’s nobility and over 80 museums, not to mention monuments and attractions described by Dostoyevsky and Pushkin.
We invite you to become a part of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. Enrolling in the Executive MBA programme in St. Petersburg will allow you to combine new management knowledge and skills with a first-hand introduction to Russian culture.
