Accreditations

Quality leaves its mark...

Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School is one of a select group of institutions in the world to hold all 3 of the major international accreditations relevant to the world of management education: EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB.

EQUIS

EQUIS – European Quality Improvement System – is a quality assurance programme run by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) as a service to the management education profession in Europe and worldwide.

The School was first awarded the EQUIS quality certification in 2001; in 2006, we were fully re-accredited for another 5 years.

AMBA

AMBA accreditation is awarded by the Association of MBAs, the UK-based international MBA quality certification authority. Only Vlerick's MBA programme and the Masters in General Management are qualified for this accreditation. The AMBA accreditation process is comparable to that for Equis accrediation: eligibility, self-audit report, on-campus visit, and accreditation.

Vlerick's MBA programme was awarded AMBA accreditation in 2001; the School was re-accredited for another 5 years in 2006. Since June 2008, the Vlerick MBA programme delivered in St.Petersburg is accredited by AMBA.

AACSB

AACSB accreditation - for Masters and MBA programmes - is awarded by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.  Originally an American system, the accreditation process is similar to that of EQUIS and AMBA: eligibility, self-assessment (a 2-year process, under the supervision of an advisor), audit and accreditation.

The School was awarded AACSB accreditation for 5 years in April 2004.
