In 1994 entrepreneurs An and Paul Vleminckx started their own wine estate by planting 21 000 grapevines of the chardonnay variety: Chardonnay Meerdael was born. This resulted in 1998 in the first Belgian sparkling wine. An and Paul will host Vlerick Alumni and explain how their dream, a belgian wine estate, became reality. A closer look into the production process is provided by the hosts, and the company visit will be concluded by a tasting of the wine. More information at www.chardonnaymeerdael.be/en
||Afterwards, we head to a nearby gastronomic restaurant (Spaans Dak, Maurits Noëstraat 2, 3050 Oud-Heverlee), where chef Michel Uyttendaele will provide a 3 course gastronomic lunch for all participants. More information at www.spaansdak.be. The price of the lunch is included in the participation fee of this event.
Your spouse or partner is kindly invited to participate in this company visit and dinner. They can exceptionally participate at the same fee as your gold and platinum alumni membership.
