MINOZ - Research Centre for Hospital Management
Scope
MINOZ is a Dutch acronym that stands for management integration, research and training in hospitals. The research centre (founded in 1997) aims at playing a significant role in the area of hospital management in Flanders. Its objective is to develop and disseminate knowledge in the field of hospital management via research, training and networking.
The approach is definitely solutions-oriented and company-relevant. Attention is paid to management processes as well as managerial skills, with a particular focus on operations management. Whereas the centre’s hospital members bring in their own experience, the Centre provides an outlet to discuss this information in a structured way. The matching of theory and practice stimulates the managerial development of its members.
The centre is firmly entrenched within an international network. Its function is both multifaceted and interdisciplinary: depending upon the nature of the management problem, various professional disciplines and functions in the hospital participate. What is important is the integration of this pluralism.
