AACSB accreditation extended by five years
The AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) has recently extended its accreditation of the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School by a period of five years. This means that the School continues to be part of a select group of global educational establishments in possession of three of the most important international accreditations in the field of management studies: the European EQUIS, the British AMBA and the American AACSB.
Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School was one of the first schools in the world to achieve the so-called “triple crown”. This threefold accreditation confirms that teaching and research at Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School has achieved the highest global quality standards.
The committee was very much impressed by the progress the School has made in the past five years. “The fact that the School effortlessly succeeded in this important test is the crowning glory of many years hard work", says Philippe Haspeslagh, Dean of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. “Furthermore, it's a nice value added that the accreditation committee has highlighted Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School as representing “best practice” in three significant fields: the quality of our new governance structure, the unique relationship with the business world through Partnerships and Chairs, and student care by our coordinators and programme directors”.
“But there’s still a lot of work ahead of us”, says Dean Haspeslagh. “That’s the benefit of exercises like this: when someone holds up a mirror to you, it gives you a better idea where the creases are that still need ironing out”.
