NEW PROGRAMME! Strategy in Action

Create value: get your strategy right!

In October Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School is launching a brand new programme on Strategy. The programme ‘Strategy in Action’, which is in English, has been developed for senior decision-makers, being those responsible for charting the company’s direction and enabling the implementation of its strategies. Courses will be taught be Vlerick professors Kurt Verweire and Leo Sleuwaegen.

Why this programme?

After the turbulent period of the past several years, companies need to re-examine what to do, and what not to do, in the future. Industries have been transformed and competitive positions have changed significantly. In tougher environments, companies need to be granular: they need to be more specific about where they play, how they compete, and where they will pursue growth. People tend to lose sight of the strategic basics when the environment is generally pleasant. But when the going gets tough, getting your strategy right is more important than ever!

But ‘getting your strategy right’ is not easy. It requires more than creating a clear blueprint of where the company is heading. In this programme, Vlerick provides you with an overall methodology that helps you address these challenges step by step. You will receive a toolbox of exercises and frameworks that help you define your strategy and make it clear for everyone in the company. In this way, the programme not only helps you to better understand the strategic context, it also helps you to assess the quality of your strategy and your strategy implementation skills.
