The manufacturer of environmentally friendly household products was crowned as winner of the Vlerick Angels Acknowledgement 2008.

For the third year in a row, a professional jury chaired by Dr. Celine Louche, selected the most promising ethical and environment-friendly company of the year. The Vlerick Angels Acknowledgement of 2008 was based on the corporate role towards 'water'. The jury based itself on nominations which were sent in by the full-time Master students of the Vlerick Leuven Ghent School of Management.

Ecover was specifically chosen because it personifies Corporate Social Responsibility. The company deserved recognition for its CSR implementation in every corporate channel, varying from its end-product to its entire production process. 

Earlier winners were the retailer Colruyt in 2006 and the soy-dairy producer Alpro in 2007. The jury of this year consisted of Prof. Dr. Roland Van Dierdonck, Dr. Bert Weijters, Mr. Marc De Spiegelaere of Protos and  Mr. Herwig Peeters of Ethibel.
