Alliances with other organisations
Over the years, Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School has created a number of alliances with organisations to strenghten management in Belgium and throughout Europe. Here are some of the latest alliances:
[BAN Vlaanderen] [EABIS] [Flanders District of Creativity] [Gate2Growth] [Guberna] [Entrepreneurship and International Entrepreneurship]
BAN Vlaanderen
BAN
(Business Angels Network) Vlaanderen is the successor to the Vlerick Business
Angels Network, an initiative of three Vlerick professors. The
professors noticed that a lot of entrepreneurial talent goes untapped for lack
of adequate funding. Not every entrepreneur with a good idea has the means to
start a new enterprise or the network to attract external funding. However,
there are quite a few private investors who are prepared to stimulate
entrepreneurship and who are looking for investment opportunities.
BAN Vlaanderen’s primary task: to balance this demand and supply. BAN Vlaanderen is an active broker service and a forum through which owners of starting or growing companies can present their investment projects to potential investors.
Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School is a founding partner of BAN Vlaanderen.

Flanders District of Creativity (FDC)
Flanders District of
Creativity is the Flemish organisation for business
creativity. It was founded by the Flemish Government as a non-profit
organization and enjoys broad support. Flemish businesses, academics, and public
institutions use Flanders DC as a platform for cooperation and for building a
more creative region. Creativity is the key ingredient in making companies more
successful and in helping regional governments fuel a healthy economy with more
jobs.
Flanders DC inspires creativity and innovation:
- by learning from the most creative regions in the world
- by igniting creative sparks in everyday life and business
- through research, practical business tools and business training, provided in cooperation with the Flanders DC Knowledge Center.

The goal of the project is to build and support a truly open, pan-European network of academics, researchers and scholars in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation and/or finance.
Today, the Network has 78 members from 35 different universities or business schools in 16 European countries. The activities of the Gate2Growth Academic Network include the organisation of an annual Doctoral Seminar Series, a Research Exchange & Mobility programme, a European Case Study Writing competition, and a Best Paper Award competition.

Guberna

Guberna (formerly the Belgian Governance Institute) is a non-profit institution that studies ‘Corporate Governance’ issues in all their aspects.
Guberna was founded in 1996 - as a non-profit organisation - by the partners of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and a number of leading companies in Belgium. In the meantime, Guberna has become the reference centre for corporate governance in Belgium. As a knowledge centre, Guberna studies corporate governance in all its dimensions and for different types of companies. It represents a large network of directors and offers a broad product portfolio to its members. It also facilitates the exchange of experience and ‘best practices’. Guberna has been actively involved in the development of the Code Lippens and the Code Buysse. Guberna is also represented internationally through networking with parallel organisations and institutions.
