Angels Foundation

The Vlerick Angels are a group of students in Vlerick’s three Master’s programmes – General Management, Financial Management and Marketing Management. They support small-scale local children’s school projects all over the world and each year a new project is selected. The Vlerick Angels are a part of the umbrella organisation ‘Stichting Angels’, a foundation which gives financial aid to underprivileged children.

The founders of the Vlerick Angels have formed a non-profit organisation. With support from Professor Céline Louche they manage to get the new intake of Master’s students interested in their activities. The students hold various benefits to raise money for the chosen school project. The funds raised by previous Vlerick Angels have already helped build a nursery school in Tanzania and buy school uniforms for children in Honduras.

This year the Vlerick Angels are sponsoring the development and renovation of the St-John school in San Juan in the Philippines. By organising various activities they try to raise as much money as possible for this project.

Vlerick Angels Acknowledgement Award

Every year a company is acknowledged for its corporate social responsibility. A professional jury chaired by Professor Céline Louche selects the most promising ethical and environment-friendly company of the year. These companies are being rewarded for their contribution to make this world a better place for everyone.
Since the procedure of selecting a winning company will be redesigned, this year no prize will be awarded. The next Acknowledgement Award will be handed out in 2010.

  • The first Acknowledgement was awarded to the Belgian chain of supermarkets Colruyt in 2006.
  • In 2007 the award went to soya food producer Alpro.
  • Ecover, which manufactures environmentally friendly household products, has been crowned winner of the 2008 Award when the focus was on maintaining and managing water.
