  • Special dossier: Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Creativity
  • Research: Supply Chain Management
  • Belgacom company-specific programme

Dear reader,

This issue features a special dossier on entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity. Within the School‘s Technological Venturing spearhead and the Innovation & Entrepreneurship knowledge domain, these are areas in which Vlerick has accumulated many years of expertise. Encouraging entrepreneurial spirit was also one of the core values of Professor André Vlerick when he founded Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, and is therefore part of the School’s genetic make-up.

Entrepreneurship and innovation are key topics of interest in a great many disciplines, so it would be impossible to cover every possible facet in this dossier. Instead, we’ll be focusing on a few highlights and seeking the views of some of the School’s in-house experts. They shed light on how entrepreneurship and innovation are perceived today and how training and academic research can stimulate and support entrepreneurship. The work of the Flanders DC Knowledge Centre is a good example of this. We’ll also be turning the spotlight on the business world, with an article on a company-specific programme as well as a case study.

Through its research and programmes, the School supports and fosters entrepreneurial spirit. Thousands of alumni are living proof of that every day. In turn, many of them are still actively involved with the School, undertaking further training or sharing their own experiences. This natural interaction between the School and its alumni has given rise to the idea of aligning Orator, the School’s house magazine, more closely with Connexis, the members’ magazine of the Vlerick Alumni Association. But first we’d like to find out how we can best tailor this idea to your individual requirements: please visit www.vlerick.be/en/magazinesurvey to take part in our online survey.

We look forward to hearing what you think!

Hilde Van Lysebeth
