Short Programmes

Short programmes are programmes focused on specific topics, lasting 1 to 6 days.

• Business Mediation

  Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School invites you to its first Business Mediation Event. In Belgium, the potential of business medition to solve disputes and improve business results is largely unexploited. Across the world, businesses move away from power based structures to a system of loosely coupled and highly interrelated systems. This development entails numerous opportunities, but also increases the chances for dispute and the need to deal with it constructively. Business mediation offers a promising escape to the trap of conflict.

• Enterprise Programme Management

  This three-day programme elaborates on the concept and practice of enterprise programme management (EPM). The notion of EPM encompasses an enterprise perspective on projects, programmes and portfolios of business change. The module generalises from real-life, practical experiences to help participants establish or grow their EPM capabilities.

• Executive Decision Making

  Take intelligent decisions at top level. This programme teaches you how to put your decisions on a sounder footing. Discover surprising truths about yourself via practical exercises based on recent scientific studies.

• How to improve your emotional intelligence

  Increase your emotional intelligence, to help you react appropriately in different situations. Thanks to tips for developing greater empathy and analysis of your own cognitive style, you learn to work with others more effectively, and get more from your team.
  Duration: 4 days from 9 am - 5.30 pm (apart from evening session on first day)

• Inspiring changes

  Change processes in organisations often come up against resistance. This programme teaches you about the factors which are relevant to your employees and how you can transform resistance into readiness for change through personal leadership, strategic dialogue and argumentation techniques.

• Negotiating to create value (D)

  ‘Onderhandelen als waardecreatie’ goes far beyond traditional negotiation training programmes. Most other programmes emphasise the process and tactics at the negotiation table almost exclusively. The multi-dimensional negotiation programme goes further to strongly accentuate the design of optimal deals and agreements.
  Duration: 5 days, from 9 am - 5.30 pm

  ‘Negotiating to Create Value’ goes far beyond traditional negotiation training programmes.   Self-management as the key to career success - This programme is aimed at managers who wish to acquire an understanding of their own career development and who are prepared to take a critical look at their performance in order to increase their personal mastery.

• State-of-the-Art

  This 1-day seminar takes place on 27 October 2009 at the Ghent campus of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. Topic of this year is "Dogged, Different and Excellent".

• The People Manager

  Inspiring and motivating employees for life - The people manager has one of the toughest possible tasks: that of coaching and inspiring employees, offering them guidance in their career, motivating them during organisational changes, and so on.
