Lean Enterprise Research Centre
Has your company been trying to make the transition to Lean manufacturing and
logistics?
Are you in a position that involves finding ways to eliminate bottlenecks and
streamline a continuous manufacturing or logistics process?
Is one of your objectives to reduce waste?
Target audience
Lean Operations is a must for:
- Senior operations managers of manufacturing and logistics companies
- Manufacturing and logistics managers responsible for formulating and

Why this programme
By making the 'lean' transition, a business can realise dramatic results and
improvements throughout all areas within the business. The significant
performance gap between companies applying 'lean' and those that do not has
triggered continued attention. Therefore a course has been developed that
provides a theoretical and practical approach that is needed by all operational
managers to learn how to assess lean opportunities, define lean improvement
projects, and prioritise the lean projects to implement.
There is a possibility to obtain the certificate "Lean Competency" accredited
by the Lean Enterprise Research Centre. To obtain this accreditation, the
participant must pass a written exam and an oral defence (with a jury of
faculty) of how she/he plans to apply concepts from the course within the
organisation.
Programme objectives
This seminar will help the participants to 'lean' their manufacturing and
logistics processes by:
- Acquiring a coherent and integrated understanding of the concepts of lean
- Gaining insight into how to apply lean principles to operations and possible

Participants that attend all modules and complete the various homework
exercises and evening sessions will receive a certificate of completion.

The Vlerick approach
Throughout the programme, a variety of lean business games are used in
combination with cases to test and prove the theories being taught. The evening
