Keynote Speaker

Prof Dr John Bicheno, professor of Operations Management at the University of Buckingham and Senior Research Associate at the Lean Enterprise Research Centre (LERC), author of the bestselling book ‘Lean Thinking’. Professor Bicheno is Director of the Master’s of Science programme in Lean Operations at Cardiff Business School. Prior to joining academia, he worked for 10 years in Operations Management, which included learning about the Toyota Production System with Toyota in South Africa. He is also the author of 8 books, the most recent of which are: “Six Sigma and the Quality Toolbox” and “The New Lean Toolbox”. Prof Bicheno also serves as a mentor on Lean to many organisations in the UK, Denmark and South Africa.

• Prof Dr Ann Vereecke, Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Ghent University) and Faculty Dean at Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. She is a member of the Board of Flanders Institute for Logistics, and EurOMA (European Operations Management Association).
• Prof Dr Marc Lambrecht, Professor in Operations Management at the Applied Economics Department at the Catholic University of Leuven. Prof Lambrecht’s focus is on factory physics, bottleneck management and multi-level inventory management. He is a member of the Board of PICS Belgium.
• Prof Dr Robert Boute, Professor in Operations Management at Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. His main research interests are in the field of Supply Chain Management and the interaction between inventory control and production management. He is a member of the Board of PICS Belgium.
