Many countries claim to be ‘in the heart of Europe’, but only Belgium truly is! From any of our Belgian campuses you can be in Paris, Frankfurt, London or Amsterdam in less than three hours.

Studying and living abroad means a fair deal of paper work and other official formalities. To help you work your way through the ocean of information, we have gathered a few key tips for settling in Belgium.

Visa Requirements

Unless you are a citizen of one of the European Union member states or a few other selected countries, you need to obtain a visa to reside in Belgium during your period of study. Check out all info on Visa requirements from the official Belgian Government site.

Note that applying for a visa may take up to two months! Not clear? Contact our International Office!

Health Care Insurance

Health care insurance covers part of your medical expenses in the event that you require medical treatment. All individuals resident in Belgium are required by law to be covered by health care insurance. As a foreign student, you are also subject to this requirement. You will receive more information on this through the International guide we send you, but in case of concerns, don't hesitate to contact our International Office.
