General terms and conditions

Finance your Masters with a scholarship!

You may apply for a scholarship to (partly) cover tuition fees. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must complete the admissions process for one of our Masters programmes

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and/or need. Scholarships are only awarded as (partial) payment of the tuition fee and cannot be used to cover living or travel expenses.

How to apply for a scholarship?

You must submit a 350-500 word essay motivating and illustrating your eligibility/qualification for a scholarship. You may include elements of need and/or merit as part of your motivation. If you wish to make a need-based argumentation, you must include proof of limited financial resources (eg parental tax income statement). If you did your undergraduate studies at a Belgian university, you must provide proof of having received a government grant in your final year of undergraduate studies.

The scholarship motivation essay should be written as part of your online application form and submitted together with your application for admission.

What is the application deadline?

Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis.

However, we advise you to apply early. Scholarship decisions are generally communicated together with the admissions decision for distance applications, or within one month after admission for on-campus applications.

Apart from a Vlerick Scholarship, international masters students may be eligible to apply for a grant in their home country to finance their studies.
