Why take a Vlerick Part-time MBA?

1. Research and teaching excellence

Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School has deep academic roots. Founded by Professor André Baron Vlerick and supported by both Ghent University and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, it offers a unique reservoir of excellence. Our close connections with the international corporate world lead to practice-based research in cooperation with numerous companies and organisations. This applied research is conducted at a variety of levels, in ‘Vlerick centres of excellence’ and ‘research chairs’. The teaching faculty of our MBA programme are not just academics. True, they are mainly PhDs, but the majority of them have gained managerial experience in a range of international environments and come from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The teaching faculty of the Vlerick Leuven Gent MBA favour interactive seminars and casestudy discussions. A list of our faculty can be found on page 18; for further details and cv information see www.vlerick.be/research

2. In-company consultancy project

The purpose of the integration project is to give participants the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired during the MBA programme to a real-world problem. The aim of the project is to develop a ready-for-use solution to a specific management problem. To part-time MBA students in particular, the in-company project offers the ideal opportunity to give a direct return to their supporting companies. The project concludes during the second year with a written report, a public presentation, defense of the project’s issues, findings and recommendations. The audience is limited to members of the firm and close faculty in order to maintain confidentiality.

3. Corporate partners

As an autonomous School, we rely on our own income to provide students and managers with innovative research, world-class faculty & srvices as well as top-level Executive Education Programmes. In order to secure the long-term intellectual property of the School and the necessary funding we die rely on the support from both individuals and Belgian and international companies/organisations. More information can be found on www.vlerick.be/partners

4. Diversity in participants profile

Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School attracts a very mixed group of students and therefore has workgroups which benefit from the contrasting business and social cultures.  This great diversity of backgrounds and education creates a special learning effect: it is very stimulating and enriching to work with people who feel, think and act differently.

5. Study trip abroad
