Profile

Professor Koen Schoors is professor of economics, specialised in transition economics and the enlargement of the European Union, at UGent and Vlerick Business School. He is also director of CERISE (Center for Russian International Soci-political and Economic Studies). He has been involved in a large number of European projects in various countries of Central, Eastern and Southern Europe and has been working for RECEP (Moscow) and Saïd Business School (Oxford University) before rejoining UGent. He works on a wide range of research projects on topics such as banking, venture capital, foreign direct investment, enlargement of the European Union and transition in general.
