Alain Gosselin


Professor Dr Alain Gosselin (M.Sc., HEC Montréal; PhD, University of Maryland at College Park) is a full professor and Associate Director of the Centre for Executive Education at HEC Montréal. His main areas of teaching and research are the development and implementation of value added human resources strategies and employee performance management issues. He has been a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina and invited lecturer at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP), l’Institut d’administration des enterprises (IAE) de Paris-1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne) et l’École supérieure des affaires (IAE) de Grenoble. He was also part of the faculty in executive development programs delivered to the African Development Bank (Tunis), Asian Development Bank (Manila), and the Romanian Commercial Bank (Bucarest). An active member of various academic and professional groups, he was president (1996-98) of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) as well as Vice President (1997-2000) of the Quebec Association of human resource managers. He is the author or co-author of four books and over 30 articles and chapters dealing with mergers & acquisitions, strategic human resource management, performance appraisal, development of managers and the repositioning of HR departments. As a consultant, he has worked with a number of large corporations including ABB, Alcan, Hydro-Québec,
IBM, Bank of Montreal, National Bank of Canada, Groupe Thalès (France), Transcontinental Group and Ubisoft.
