Centre for Excellence in Strategic Rewards

Why this Centre for Excellence in Strategic Rewards?

The Centre for Excellence in Strategic Rewards is a unique knowledge platform conducting practice-oriented research on the topic of strategic reward management. It is also an important network in which the participating firms share experiences, ideas, etc.

It is the centre’s goal to support its members in developing the strategic dimension of their reward management and becoming high-performing organisations. Important business drivers and employee expectations are taken into the equation to develop more effective remuneration policies and practices. This should enable firms to develop reward policies and systems that are aligned with their external and internal business contexts.

History

The Centre for Excellence in Strategic Rewards is the continuation and broadening of the Research Roundtable 'Employee Benefits' which was founded in 1996. This roundtable learned that compensation and benefits policies play a central role in strategy implementation. In answer to this, the Research Roundtable broadened its scoop and  became the Strategic Rewards Research Centre in 2000. In 2009, the Strategic Rewards Research Centre was upgraded and received the label of Centre for Excellence in Strategic Rewards. This ‘Centre for Excellence’ quality label implies that the centre has to meet high-level performance criteria regarding research output, customer satisfaction and financials.
