How to ask others to vote in a message?

Description

Do you have an innovating idea and you would like to know how our colleagues feel about it? Or have you worked hard on a certain subject and you would like to have some feedback on it? Then, voting buttons are your solution. To insert them into an e-mail message, you can use this FAQ.
Notice however, that only recipients who are using Outlook, can see and use these voting buttons.

Your attention should be especially drawn to Webmail use. When using webmail, the voting buttons will not appear when such an e-mail is read. Also people who use an e-mail address from a different email provider (other than vlerick.be or microsoft e-mail providers such as hotmail.com, msn.com, etc.) may not be able to see and use voting buttons.

Solution

  1. In the message, click View > Options or just 'Options', depending on your version of Outlook.
  2. Select the check box 'Use voting buttons' in 'Voting and Tracking Options', and then click the voting button names you want to use in the box.
To create your own voting button names, delete the default button names, and then type any text you want. Separate the text with semicolons.
    For example: Small;Large;Extra Large.
  3. Select the check box 'Save sent message to:' in 'Delivery Options', and then enter the folder name where you want the message saved. To select a folder other than the Sent Items folder, click 'Browse'.
  4. Click 'Close' and then click 'Send'.
