How to display images in an e-mail message?
Pictures and other Internet content are not automatically downloaded when you display an e-mail message in Outlook 2003. To display pictures or Internet content in an e-mail message you know is safe, follow the steps below.
Background info
Junk e-mail senders ("spammers") have used this content in HTML messages to their advantage by including something called a "Web beacon" in these messages.
A Web beacon notifies the sender's Web server when you read or preview the message, validating your e-mail address and often resulting in more junk messages being sent to you. By not automatically downloading pictures and Internet content, Outlook 2003 prevents this from happening.
Display pictures
- Open the e-mail message. You will notice the non-formatted layout
of the e-mail message.

- Click the 'InfoBar' near the top of the message, which says
'This message was converted to plain text' and choose the
option 'Display as HTML'.

- Click the 'InfoBar' near the top of the message, which says
'Click here to download pictures. To help protect your privacy,
Outlook prevented automatic download of some pictures in this
message'.
- To just display the content of this specific message, click 'Download Pictures'.
- To always display the content of messages from this particular sender, click 'Add Sender to Safe Senders List'. (E-mail messages from or to e-mail addresses or domain names on the Safe Senders and Safe Recipients Lists are treated as exceptions, so pictures and Internet content will be displayed.)

- Now, the message is displayed in an easy to read format.
