How can I access my archived email?

  1. Access from Outlook
  2. Access from webmail

1. Access from Outlook

When you have archived emails, you will notice some extra buttons in Outlook and see that some emails have a different icon.

Accessing your archived emails is just as easy as opening a new mail message: just double click it.
Note that when you delete a message, the message is removed from your archive also.

A. Different email icons

If the software archived an email, the mail itself is stored in your archive and a shortcut is created to the email.
This shortcut has a different email icon then a normal mail message:

The first icon shows a normal message, the second one an archived.

These shortcuts are created automatically.
Shortcuts of email older then 6 months are automatically removed from within your mailbox. However, the emails remain available at all time via the extra buttons in your Outlook (see below).

B. Extra Outlook buttons

If you have archived mail, you will see some extra Outlook buttons in Outlook.
These buttons are located on the icon bar below your Outlook menu.

The icon gives you access to the powerful search throughout your archive.
When clicking this icon, you will see a search box where you can type in your search query.
All emails and attachments containing your search query will be displayed.

The icon gives you access to the Archive Explorer.
This Explorer is a folder view on your archive. It lists all folders which contains archived emails and shows all archived emails within these folders.
When the shortcut to an archived mail is removed from Outlook, this Archive Explorer view will give you easy access to those emails.

The icon gives you the option to manually store an email in your archive.
Normally, you shouldn't use this functionality since email archiving is done automatically in the background for you.

C. Offline access

Just like you can use Outlook while working offline, you can consult a part of your archive offline.
When your mailbox is activated for archiving, you will see a popup in Outlook like this one:

This popup shows the progress of updating your offline archive.

Please note only 500MB of your archive is available offline.

2. Access from webmail

When you have archived emails, you will notice some extra buttons in your webmail and see that some emails have a different icon.
