1. Your Account

You can log-on with your username (account) and password.

3. Log on to a Vlerick computer

When you login to a Vlerick computer, you will see a window like this:

The domain must be (Log on to:) DVSM.

When you first log on to a vlerick computer and start outlook, do not forget to adapt your signature.

If you want to use a personal folder place it on d:\users\yourusername\mail\

4. Location of your data

We can only backup files that are placed on our servers. So if you save something on your computer, it's not supported.

4.1 Network Shares

When you log-on your personal share is mapped the drive letter M:\.
You have a quota of 2GB on this share.
Any other shares you have access to will be mapped automatically during logon.

Network shares will be backup every evening. Data on your computer will not..

4.2 Data on your computer

If you want  to save data on your computer, Please save all this data on D:\users\username

On all public computers we delete all data weekly !
(public computers are computers like : pc room, library, auditoria, ...)

If your quota grows larger and larger it is time to put this on a cd-rom. To do this you can go to the library and burn a CD or contact the secretary of your department.
Make a copy of your CD as backup. You can give it to us, we will put it in our CD-archive.

6. Software

6.1 Standard Software

All computers in our network that are the property of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School have the same standard software installed:

  • Windows XP Professional
  • Office 2003
  • SPSS 15
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0
  • Internet Explorer 6.1
  • McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5.0i
  • McAfee Policy Orchestrator Client 3.6
  • Altiris Client

6.2 Additional Software

  • Other software is possible: please make a helpdesk call.
    Make sure to have budget and approval from your department president.

6.3 Software Training

We offer you training in :

  • All Microsoft Office 2003 products
  • Windows XP

You can follow a training online using NETG: http://netg.vlerick.be
If you can not log in, please contact the helpdesk to give you free access.

7. Your telephone

You will get a telephone and a fax number.

  • Rent of audiovisual equipment
  • Reservation of auditoria and meeting rooms
  • Access control
  • Cleaning
