Behzad Samii

Behzad Samii onderzoekt hoe betere supply chains voor de toekomst te ontwerpen – vooral hoe de ruggengraat te bouwen voor intelligente besluitvorming met de gegevens uit geavanceerde technologieën (zoals RFID en slimme meters) om een positieve impact uit te oefenen op de behendigheid, flexibiliteit en prestaties van waardeketens.

Behzad combineert jarenlange managementervaring in de hardware architectuur van computers en smart-sensing-technologieën met de theoretische wiskundige modellering en optimalisatie om real-life problemen in de energievoorzieningsketens, gezondheidszorgoperaties en complexe smart-grid-implementaties op te lossen.

Hij ontwikkelde innovatieve operations en supply chain managementmodules voor programma's op maat, cursussen in resilient supply chains en revenue management voor executive master classes en een MBA-module over duurzaamheid in supply chains.

Behzad geniet ervan te werken met studenten om hun eindverhandeling vorm te geven, een kans om de kloof te overbruggen tussen streng wetenschappelijk onderzoek en toegepaste industrieprojecten.

Profiel

Behzad Samii is professor Operations en supply chain management in de Area Techonology and Operations Management Area. Hij is laureaat van de 2010 award voor beste docent en doceert aan Belgische en Russische graduaatsprogramma’s en aan het internationale MBA-programma van de Universiteit van Peking.

Behzad werkte meer dan twee decennia in operations en technology management. Hij leidde consultancyprojecten, leidde managers op en ontwikkelde technologieën. In die hoedanigheid nam hij diverse leidinggevende internationale functies op, onder meer bij Apple Computer en Schlumberger.

Behzad ontwikkelde cursussen in supply chain management, production en operations management en heeft ruime ervaring met oefeningen in simulatie van managementintegratie om gestructureerde besluitvorming en leidinggevende vaardigheden te ontwikkelen.

Behzad behaalde zijn bachelor in de Exacte Wetenschappen in de afdeling Computer Engineering aan de Sharif University en een doctoraat van het internationaal logistiekprogramma aan het MIT.
