Karlien Vanderheyden

Karlien Vanderheyden bestudeert de sociale intelligentie van mensen en hoe individuen de prestaties van organisaties kunnen verhogen door middel van hun eigen gedrag en de interactie met anderen.
Ze gebruikt haar ervaring om onderzoek te doen en les te geven over vaardigheden, stijlen en gedrag van individuen en teams zoals cognitieve stijlen, besluitvorming, valkuilen in teamwerk.

Profiel

Karlien Vanderheyden behaalde haar Master diploma in Bedrijfspsychologie aan de Universiteit Gent in 1990. Ze was ‘research fellow’ aan de Universiteit van Maryland (1994-1995) en behaalde haar graad van Doctor in de Psychologie aan de Universiteit van Gent in 1998. Ze geeft les in ‘people management’ in verschillende programma’s (Master/MBA, op maat gemaakte programma’s).

Haar interesse in het managen van mensen komt ook tot uiting in haar onderzoek. Zo doet ze bijvoorbeeld onderzoek rond besluitvorming en intuïtie, diversiteit in teams en individuele verschillen en prestaties. Haar boek ‘Essentials in Communicatie’ is een mooie illustratie van hoe je theorie en praktijk kan combineren. Ze gebruikt haar ervaring en kennis ook om managers te coachen en op die manier hun prestaties in organisaties te optimaliseren.
