Smaranda Boros

Smaranda's eigen cross-culturele professionele loopbaan is een mooi voorbeeld van wat ze doceert. Ze is tot nu toe actief geweest in onderwijs, onderzoek en consultancy in Roemenië, Italië, Nederland, het Verenigd Koninkrijk en België. Deze achtergrond biedt haar een bredere basis voor de coaching van internationale medewerkers en minderheidsgroepen in organisaties, maar ook in haar onderwijs en onderzoek over diversiteit.

Haar voornaamste missie draait om het verbeteren van de dynamische mogelijkheden van organisaties: de capaciteit van organisaties om zich actief aan hun omgeving aan te passen en ze dan vorm te geven. Dit aanpassingsvermogen begint met het authentieke individu, maar kijkt verder naar hoe het leven en de prestaties van teams worden gevormd door menselijke relaties en interacties en wat we kunnen doen om die te verbeteren. Ook gaat haar aandacht naar de wederzijdse relaties tussen organisaties en hun stakeholders en omgeving. Smaranda heeft deze vragen behandeld in haar wetenschappelijk onderzoek, waarover ze wetenschappelijke artikelen en boeken publiceerde, maar ook in de advies- en coachingpraktijk. De resultaten van haar onderzoek komen sterk aan bod in wat ze doceert. Smaranda richt zich op leerervaringen die innovatief, ervaringsgericht en uitdagend zijn. Ze wil de missie van de School bevorderen door authentieke leiders te ontwikkelen die het verschil in de wereld maken.

Profiel

Smaranda is Associate Professor Organisational Behaviour aan Vlerick Business School. Ze was betrokken bij academisch onderwijs (Babes-Bolyai Universiteit, Roemenië en Universiteit Tilburg, Nederland) en diverse programma's voor levenslang leren (Babeş-Bolyai Universiteit; TIAS Nimbas Business School, Nederland; FHR Lim A Po Institute for Social Studies, Suriname). Als consultant heeft zij zich gespecialiseerd in embedded interventies in managementontwikkeling.

Zij doctoreerde (2007) in de Psychologie (cum laude) aan Babeş-Bolyai Universiteit, Cluj-Napoca, Roemenië. Ze heeft een master in Human Resource Management (2004), een bachelor in de Psychologie (2003) en een bachelor in de Sociologie (2004) van Babes-Bolyai University. Ze kreeg ook groepstrainingen en individuele coaching en begeleiding van het Professional Development Institute BV (Nederland), het Tavistock Institute for Human Relations (Groot-Brittannië) en de Roemeense Vereniging voor Cognitieve Gedragstherapie in samenwerking met het Albert Ellis Instituut in New York.

Haar onderzoek richt zich vooral op groepsdynamiek (in het bijzonder conflicten in teams, emotionele intelligentie van groepen, teamcreativiteit en -effectiviteit), diversiteit in teams, gender en management en organisatorische en groepsidentificatie. Ze publiceerde artikelen over deze onderwerpen in tijdschriften zoals de ‘British Journal of Management’, ‘British Journal of Social Psychology’, ‘International Journal of Conflict Management’, ‘Social Psychology’, ‘Journal of Managerial Psychology’ en ‘International Journal of Psychology and Group Dynamics’.
