Stijn Viaene

Stijn heeft een passie voor alles wat te maken heeft met het creëren van een digitale organisatie. De huidige context van massale hoeveelheden data, geavanceerde analytische methoden, sociale software en cloud technologie noopt absoluut tot studie. Het onderzoek aan Vlerick Business School in nauwe samenwerking met private en publieke partners, waaronder de Deloitte Leerstoel 'Bringing IT to Board Level' en het Onderzoekscentrum “BPM Network” (Business Process Management), dragen bij tot een significant beter praktisch inzicht in wat het betekent om IT optimaal in te zetten voor waardecreatie. De lessen van Stijn zijn rijkelijk gestoffeerd met case studies. Zo publiceerde hij al teaching cases met onder meer FedEx ('Enterprise Business-IT engagement in an Empowered Business Environment'), ING ('Marketing’s Business Transformation at ING Belgium Retail'), KLM ('CRM Excellence at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines') en Solvay ('Leveraging Solvay Group Culture with a Third Generation Intranet'). Profiel

Professor Stijn Viaene is partner van Vlerick Business School. Hij staat er aan het hoofd van het domein Operations and Technology Management. Hij is hoogleraar aan de KU Leuven binnen de onderzoekseenheid Kwantitatieve beleidsmethoden en beleidsinformatica. Op Vlerick Business School is hij houder van de Deloitte Leerstoel 'Bringing IT to Board Level'. Het onderzoek van Stijn richt zich op managementvraagstukken aangaande Business-IT alignment, IT governance en business process management (BPM). Zijn onderzoek werd gepubliceerd in gerenommeerde tijdschriften zoals 'MIT Sloan Management Review', 'Communications of the ACM', 'Information and Management', 'Journal of Information Technology', 'IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering', 'European Journal of Operational Research' en 'Expert Systems with Applications'.
