    Since 2008, Agoria Vlaanderen – the trade association for the technology industry – has awarded the Agoria Prize. This prize for technological research is combined with the Flemish Dissertation Award. Via this initiative, Agoria seeks to focus attention on creative technological research conducted by young scientists. The winner not only receives a cash prize of €500, but he/she is also awarded a seat in ‘Entrepreneurial Innovation’, a 3-module track of the Vlerick Executive Master Class in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, to the value of €8000.

Womed – Women in Enterprise and Development – is an initiative of mabizz, the entrepreneurs network for women from markant, and UNIZO in collaboration with Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School, KBC and Trends.

  4. AMBA accreditation extended by five years

    The International Accreditation Advisory Board of the Association of MBAs (AMBA) has recently extended its accreditation of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School’s MBA programme portfolio for five years. Having received the AMBA accreditation for the first time in 2001, this is the third time in a row that the AMBA committee grants a full five year extension.

  5. EQUIS accreditation extended by five years

    The EQUIS Awarding Body has voted to confer the EQUIS accreditation label upon Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School for a further period of five years. By doing so Vlerick is now part of a select group of only 15 business schools that have received an unconditional full five-year accreditation for three times in a row.

  6. Renewed collaboration with Beijing University

    Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School is renewing its ongoing partnership agreement with China’s prestigious Beijing University for a period of five years. The signing took place in the presence of Prince Filip and Princess Mathilde during the recent royal trade mission to China. Since 2008, the two educational institutions have co-organised the Beijing International MBA (BiMBA). The collaboration is a win-win arrangement for the two parties and gives Vlerick an important entrée to the Chinese market.

  7. Fond Farewell to Marketing Professor Jos Van Acker

    It is with sorrow that we have learned that Professor Emeritus Jos Van Acker, the founder of Marketing in Belgium, has passed away. Not only was he Belgium’s very first marketing professor, but as Professor André Vlerick’s first assistant he helped Prof Vlerick lay the foundations for Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and, in particular, the current Masters in Marketing programme (at the time of its inception, it was known as the Special Licence Marketing).

  8. Vlerick business games can now be played worldwide thanks to new online platform

    Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School has developed a new online platform for its business games. Via a special website, web-based games are now accessible through the internet from any computer (with login and password). This means they can now be played by participants from all over the world, regardless of geographical location or time zone.

  9. New academic year takes off

    On 14 September, Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School’s new academic year was inaugurated via the traditional opening event in the Ghent University auditorium, in the presence of Dean Philippe Haspeslagh, General Director Patrick De Greve, students, parents and families. Vlerick is starting this new academic year with a total of 483 new students – 256 of them are following a Masters programme, and 227 are pursuing an MBA.

  10. WEF ranks Belgium number one for quality of management schools

    Belgium has ranked number one in the world for ‘quality of management schools’ in the latest ‘Global Competitiveness Report’ from the World Economic Forum (WEF). As well as being highly satisfied with the quality of management schools in the country, international business leaders also ranked Belgium as the 15th most competitive economy in the world, surpassing France and closely behind Germany and the Netherlands.
