Philanthropic Fundraising Manager

What can you expect ? 

  • Develop and lead the School’s philanthropic fundraising efforts. Build a strategy and infrastructure for
    developing the School’s potential donor pool and for achieving ambitious fundraising targets.
  • Personally cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations. 
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of the School’s top donors and prospective donors. Create tailored funding
    proposals and implement solicitation strategies to secure major gifts from a wide range of potential
    donors. Enhance the engagement of volunteer leaders. 
  • Develop and liaise core infrastructure (policies, procedures, metrics and tools) to optimise fundraising
    success and administrative efficiency by building strong, two-way relations with colleagues across the
    School, establishing collaborative relationships with Partners and staff. 
  • Work closely with the School’s Alumni team and leadership of the Alumni Association to develop and
    manage a successful alumni relations strategy that builds the School’s global network, leverages contacts
    and maintains successful long-term relations. 
  • Advise and collaborate with the School’s Marketing teams to ensure that School messaging is consistent
    with its purpose, its philanthropic foundation and aspirations.

What do we expect from you ?

  • A Master’s degree and minimum 5 years of work experience
  • A strong belief in the School’s purpose and an ability to engage eloquently with prospective donors on its
    importance and potential impact.
  • A natural networker, getting energy from meeting new people
  • The ambition to build effective fundraising success for an institution that is new to philanthropy.
  • Experience of developing teams and equipping them for success in a complex operating environment.
  • The ability to add value by working collaboratively and strategically on a wide range of issues with the
    School’s senior leadership team; advise the Dean and the Board on diverse matters, from high-stakes donor
    cultivation to broad institutional issues.
  • A proven leader with the experience, vision, energy and finesse required to partner with a Dean and
    volunteer leaders who are committed to fundraising success; work collaboratively with academics,
    colleagues, volunteers and donors; to set and achieve ambitious goals for success; strategic thinker with
    proven capability to implement.
  • Personal qualities: integrity, outstanding communication skills; self-starter; juggling numerous projects and
    satisfying numerous stakeholders simultaneously; enthusiasm and eagerness to learn; outstanding
    interpersonal and relationship building skills, excellent writing and presentation skills; attention to detail. 
  •  Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
