An entrepreneurial spirit flows through our school – inspiring our students to think bigger, connect with the most up-to-the-minute approaches, and achieve. Because of this spirit, we want to help as many of our students and alumni to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams as we can. Which is why we set up the Vlerick Student Entrepreneurship Fund – to give you the opportunity to secure funding to take your venture to the next level.

How does it work?

  1. You complete the application form  and tell us all about your business venture
  2. A jury of experts selects the start-ups that will go through to the pitching stage
  3. If you’re successful, you pitch your venture to a jury of Vlerick faculty, founding friends of the Student Entrepreneurship Fund and Entrepreneurs in Residence

Who can apply?

You can apply for the Vlerick Student Entrepreneurship Fund if:

  • Your venture is no more than three years old on 12 November, 2021
  • You’re a current Masters or MBA student or alumnus
  • You’re a current participant or alumnus of the Executive Master Class in Innovation and Entrepreneurship or a long-term management programme
  • Your venture is at a pilot or proof-of-concept stage
  • Your total funding to date is no more than €50,000

Your pitching team must include at least one Vlerick student or alumnus.

When and where?

  • Practice run: 1 December, 2021, Brussels campus
  • Pitch to jury: 9 December, 2021, Brussels campus

How to take part?

Complete the application form and send it to alexandre.lebbe@vlerick.com by 12 November, 2021. If your team is successful, we’ll contact you by 27 November.

What’s in it for you?

If your team is selected, you’ll have the opportunity to pitch your venture to a jury – and you may get a grant of between €5000 and €50,000. You can use this money in a number of ways – for example, attending an international conference, building a prototype, hiring expert advice or paying accelerator fees.

If you’re awarded a grant, we ask you to make a personal pledge to return some money to the Vlerick Student Entrepreneurship Fund – and to be an ambassador of the Fund and Vlerick Business School   in the future.

We look forward to receiving your application and finding out all about your venture!
