Emma Willems

Emma Willems is a doctoral researcher at Vlerick and KU Leuven, in the field of accounting and finance.

Her research deals with the use of business intelligence and machine learning in the context of strategic performance management. Specifically, she’s looking into how algorithms can help managers make strategic decisions – and the added value business analytics can offer.

Emma is involved in the Centre for Financial Leadership and Digital Transformation, where she works with Professor Kristof Stouthuysen to develop relevant research, opinion pieces and case studies. She also supports Vlerick’s data science electives and bootcamp. And she provides teaching support for Professor Stouthuysen’s financial and managerial accounting courses.
