Jürgen Ingels

Entrepreneur in Residence

Jürgen Ingels is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He made his name with Clear2Pay, a pioneering financial technology company that he founded in 2001. Over the years it became hugely successful– with a team of 1,200 people across more than 20 countries. In 2014, Jürgen sold Clear2Pay to one of the world’s largest fintech companies, FIS (NYSE).

Today, Jürgen is managing partner at SmartFin – a venture capital fund that invests in growing European technology firms. He is also the brains behind SuperNova and The Big Score, two of Belgium’s most important, globally-known, technology festivals.

Jürgen is on the board of several companies, including WDP (Euronext/BEL20), Materialise (NASDAQ), Ghelamco, Itiviti, Projective, GuardSquare, Unifiedpost Group (Euronext) and Deliverect. He is an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Vlerick Entrepreneurship Academy.
