Webinar 2: Managing Virtual Teams

by Prof Smaranda Boros

Working within a virtual team is becoming the reality for more and more organisations today. However, when people think of virtual teams, they think of everything that can go wrong and are more focused on the disadvantages of working this way than on the great potential. While it is true that virtual teams do not function as collocated teams, there are also many advantages that virtual teams bring to the picture.

The aim of this session is two-fold: on the one hand, to reframe and repaint the picture of virtual teamwork from something threatening to something that can add value to all stakeholders of the organisation; and secondly, to provide participants with good practices for ensuring well-functioning virtual teams and satisfied team members.

About the speaker

Smaranda BorosProf Smaranda Boros practices what she preaches through having a cross-cultural professional path herself. So far she has taught, conducted research and provided consultancy services in Romania, Italy, The Netherlands, UK and Belgium. This background ensures she has in-depth knowledge when coaching internationals and minority groups in organisations and has broad experience for her diversity teaching and research.
