Hans Crijns

Profile

Professor Hans Crijns is Partner of Vlerick Business School where he is head of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Director of the Impulse Centre "Growth Management for medium-sized enterprises" (iGMO). He is also part-time Professor at Ghent University. He holds a KU Leuven BA and Master’s degree in Economics, he graduated in Pedagogy from the University of Nijmegen and specialised in Science in Management at Boston University Brussels.
As Vlerick Professor he teaches at Peking University (China), and at USB Stellenbosch (South Africa).
He also is or has been Visiting Professor at universities and business schools all over the world such as NUM in Phnom Phen (Cambodia), HIBA in Damascus (Syria), RSM Nijenrode (The Netherlands), GEA in Ljublijana(Slovenia), UAB in Barcelona (Spain). As an expert he has worked for the Belgian Government and the European Commission. He is Past-President and Fellow of the European Council for Small Business (ECSB) and Board Member of several organisations in the field of entrepreneurship (EFER, ICSB).
He is co-founder of various entrepreneurial initiatives such as the Vlerick Business Angels Network (BAN), the Académie pour la Croissance des Entreprises (ACE) and the Business Plan competition “EnterPrize”. He acts as Non-Executive Director for a number of medium-sized companies (Soudal, Sobradis, Alsico, , NFTE Foundation).
