Inclusion starts with I

Delia Mensitieri

What was my dream when I was little?

I had many dreams when I was little, but all my dreams were adventurous, exploring new frontiers and helping society as a truly heroine!

What am I doing when I am not working on my PhD?

Diving (I cofounded an all-female diving club to support and promote this wonderful sport with the Belgian ladies), cooking and singing jazz. And ofcourse, playing with my cat Gus and discussing science with my partner in crime Rudy.

What is my PhD about?

To understand better the dynamics between the individual, the context and behaviours when trying to create a truly diverse and inclusive workforce with all the benefits that diversity can bring.

Why is this important for practice?

To answer the question: what works? At the moment organisations are still struggling to create a workplace where everyone feel that they belong, valued for being different and being appreciated for their unique talents.

How do I like to be remembered after my PhD?

Just as Delia.

How do I see my future?

Exciting times ahead! Adventurous, exploring new frontiers and helping society, and maybe, why not, support other heroines to take that leap into science.
