What was my dream when I was little?

To become a pilot and fly a F16 fighter jet.

What am I doing when I am not working on my PhD?

During the winter period, riding my snowboard down a mountain, and hoping for winter to come during summer to do it all over again! Besides that, I enjoy following the political discourse and like to read up on the history and future of Europe.

The value proposition of innovative diagnostics within the context of personalised medicine.

Why is this important for practice?

Due to technological innovations within the area of genomics, highly innovative diagnostics are reaching the market. These diagnostics are able to predict the outcome for patients of drug administration. This practice is called personalised medicine within industry and poses significant challenges and opportunities for the sustainability of the healthcare system.

How do I like to be remembered after my PhD?

Hopefully as someone who overcame his personal and professional flaws during his PhD.

How do I see my future?

With the Vlerick spirit in my backpack, I would say: “quite bright”.
