The centre carries out practice-relevant research on executive remuneration with strong academic foundations. Our unique approach of developing practice-oriented knowledge based on academic theories and evidence makes us the preferred partner for our participants. The focus is on desk research, action-based learning, surveys, benchmarking and the detection of interesting business practices.
- Knowledge & learning network
The centre brings together faculty, researchers and practitioners with the aim of developing and testing new ideas as well as improving existing practices.
The centre provides its partners and members with its own synthesis of trends. This information is disclosed in the centre’s newsletter. Partners and members also have access to relevant publications in the field of reward management. The centre aims to bridge the gap between the academic and business worlds.
- Sounding board
In order to enhance mutual learning, Vlerick faculty as well as the centre’s partners and members can take a critical look at other partners’ and members’ concrete proposals and systems. The centre also assumes the function of a forum for the broader community and the relevant decision makers by communicating relevant research results and the opinions of partners and members.

Organisations can join the Centre for Excellence in Strategic Rewards as Prime Foundation Partner, Knowledge Partner or Research Member.
Prime Foundation Partner
A Prime Foundation Partner wants to contribute fundamentally to the development of reward management; takes the lead and moreover, wants to contribute structurally to the working of Vlerick Business School. These partners are part of the Centre's Steering Committee and decide upon the research agenda.
A Knowledge Partner participates in the workshops, is entitled to receive all the information and research reports of the centre and wants to contribute structurally to the working of Vlerick Business School.
A Research Member participates in the workshops and is entitled to receive all the information and research reports of the centre. The research member continuously wants to bring his compensation & benefits knowledge to a higher level.
