Human capital as key success factor for digital transformation

With support of the European Social Fund (ESF), the Flemish Government and the European Union, Vlerick Business School is conducting the innovation project ‘Human capital as key success factor for digital transformation’.

Many companies are digitally transforming their business models and processes. Digital technologies and optimisations, such as: artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, the internet of things and blockchain, are entering the Belgian labour market at a fast pace. But what does this mean for employees working for these companies? And for the workforce in general?

Our project aims to gain insight in the impact of digital transformation on organisation’s human capital: What do employees worry about? What are challenges and opportunities? Which needs do employees have? Are there individual differences?

Relying on the principles of design thinking, we will develop an innovative service to stimulate employees in the context of digital transformation. Focus will be on supporting and strengthening employees and creating a digital- and growth mindset. To support the innovation process, we work together with the design experts of Leap Forward.

This programme is co-financed by the European Social Fund, the Flemish Government and the European Union.
