Google Scholar - Setting preferences for library full text

When in search for academic literature you might want to use Google Scholar, but not all materials listed in Google Scholar are freely accessible, quite a lot of content is still behind a paywall.

However, Google Scholar allows you to connect with our library subscriptions! By setting-up your Google Scholar preferences, you will see a link to the full text at Vlerick Library.

Click here for a printable version of this libguide (PDF).

To setup the right linking, you can follow the following steps:

  1. Go to

  2. Click on the menu (3 bar icon) and select settings.

  3. Click on ‘Library Links’.

  4. Search for “Vlerick Business School” and select it. In case you have access to content elsewhere, you can also search and add up to 5 other libraries.

  5. Click the ‘save’ button.

A new setup will be required when:

  • You have cleared cookies
  • Switching to another browser

Now that you have the library links set, you can do a search.

  1. If the article is available in the Vlerick databases, you will see links to ‘Full Text Vlerick’.

  2. When clicking the 'Full Text Vlerick link', you are redirected to the EBSCO link resolver. If you did not already log into your Vlerick account for using outlook or another online application, you will be asked to sign in.

  3. Once you are logged in, you get an overview where you can see in which of our databases the article is available. If an article is available in more than one of our databases, you will see more ‘view this article’ links.

    • Click on 'View this article in...'

  4. After clicking the link, the database opens, and you can read or download the article.
