Dear Vlerick Alumni and Students,
We have just moved in and would be happy to see you at our brand new beautiful premises!

19:00 – 19:40 - Lecture of Prof. Alexander Himme on “The Value of Brands”
19:40 – 20:00 - Q&A
20:00 – Networking
This session deals with the role of brands for customers and how brands can be valuated. Brands serve very different functions for consumers and for firms. Based on that, Professor Himme will talk about how to value these functions and how to transform it into a real monetary value. Naturally, the value of the brand will depend on certain contexts. Hence the lecture will deal with, in which contexts brands are more valuable than in other contexts.
Professor Alexander Himme is Assistant Professor of Marketing at Vlerick Business School. Alexander Himme obtained a Phd in Marketing and Accounting at Kiel University in Germany (2008). Before joining Vlerick Business School, Professor Himme worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Passau and the University of Cologne both in Germany. He was visiting scholar at Graduate School of Business at Stanford University as well as University of California in Los Angeles. Professor Himme is specialized in Marketing Performance Measurement, Brand Valuation and Innovation Management.
