Sebastian Fixson works at the intersection of innovation and design. His research allows organisations to build their innovation capabilities. He studies how innovation performance is impacted through choices in process governance, the use of digital design tools – and through the use of innovation practices such as design thinking. He supports large enterprises and entrepreneurial firms, and his work has been published in books and academic journals.
He currently teaches innovation, design, and operations management at Babson College in the USA, as well as at universities and companies around the world. He’s the Associate Dean of Graduate Programmes & Innovation at Babson's F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. He’s also served as the founding Faculty Director of Babson’s Master of Science in Management in Entrepreneurial Leadership programme. Before this, he was an assistant at the University of Michigan, and has taught at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and Northeastern University’s School of Technological Entrepreneurship.
