Would you leave your comfortzone for a digital adventure in Dublin?

As a little girl, Phéline Casier (MGM, 2015) dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Still, as an adventurous spirit, Phéline stayed open to all kinds of possibilities. She studied Literature and Linguistics Spanish and English, and then decided to join the Vlerick Masters in General Management programme.

Phéline Casier: “I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, and I had a lot of questions about the world of business. During my year at Vlerick, I gained a lot of confidence and made friends and colleagues for life. When I participated in the Vlerick sales competition, I suddenly realised that I really like sales!”

As she completed her Vlerick MGM in December 2015, Phéline was working at her computer when a LinkedIn message popped up: Microsoft was attracted by her online profile and requested an interview. Within 30 minutes, her CV was in Microsoft’s Inbox!

Today, she’s a Search Account Manager at Microsoft Dublin, with a 110-member team. Phéline loves the international working environment − her team includes 18 different nationalities, and she speaks several languages throughout the day. Her career is just beginning, but it already looks like a case study in openness, vitality, international mind-set and, well, going for it!

Key message:
“First of all, I’d like to urge everyone to keep your LinkedIn account up-to-date. And second, step out of your comfort zone once in a while. I took a big leap of faith moving from Ghent to Dublin − but it’s been one of my most exciting life experiences so far.”
