Transforming your organisation to win at digital speed

Organisational agility is necessary in a context of digital transformation. It’s only when an organisation is agile and can respond faster and better than its rivals to the digital opportunities and challenges, that its long time success is guaranteed.

How can you take up a leadership role in this challenge? Leading digital transformation is a matter of action, rather than position or personality.

Take the Lead, the learning programme of De Tijd/L’Echo and Vlerick Business School, will put you on the fast-track to becoming a digital leader. In 12 weeks you will learn how to guide your organisation through a successful digital transformation and enhance the organisational agility of your company. You will be challenged and inspired during interactive online courses and impactful live events.

WHY THIS PROGRAMME?

Take the Lead will explain how you can implement successful digital transformations through good leadership. Making a digital transformation successful requires four types leadership: vigilant, voyager, visionary, and vested. The programme explains which key responsibilities you can take up for each leadership style.

After successfully completing this learning journey, you will be able to effectively address the challenge of digital transformation in a professional context and:

  • Articulate and frame the digital transformation challenge of creating organisational agility
  • Categorize and evaluate key leadership responsibilities in creating organisational agility required to succeed in the digital age
  • Introduce and evaluate a number of practices for creating digital-age organisational agility
  • Stimulate and support others to contribute to the organisation’s digital transformation

PROGRAMME DESIGN

The programme consists of six modules and spans a period of 12 weeks. The learning journey comprises online learning complemented with 3 face-to-face events with all fellow learners:
- Kick-off: 21 March 2019
- AI inspiration session: 28 May 2019
- Graduation ceremony: 13 June 2019

The course is designed to allow for self-paced learning during each module. However, the course imposes strict timings on module start and end dates to allow you to benefit maximally from peer feedback and group learning as you progress through the course.

Each module is split up into learning units. A learning unit consists of a material piece of content, introducing one or more concepts, theories, methods, practices, or examples, with immediate application. To optimize your learning experience, it is recommended that you follow the order in which the units and their components are presented.

The learning activities for each module are aimed at achieving a particular set of learning outcomes. Together, the learning outcomes of all the course modules allow you to achieve the learning outcomes for the program.

Elective topics

In each of the core digital leadership modules, you will be challenged to reflect on how technology could help to stimulate one of the digital leadership types in your own organisation. For each digital leadership type, you will be able to select one (or more) relevant technologies, on which additional online content has been carefully selected by the designers of this programme.

After the 4 core modules, you will have covered several important technology-related topics (including cloud, artificial intelligence, IoT, augmented reality, blockchain, …). This online content will allow you to achieve a good understanding of the selected technology and will enable you to estimate the possible impact of the technology on your organisation.

Who would benefit from it?

Everyone who:
  • aspires to drive his or her organisation’s digital transformation;
  • wants to serve as an ambassador for digital-savvy change;
  • aims at co-creating transformation with other people, in a holistic and inclusive way;
  • believes in helping other people develop and perform as highly as possible.
A minimum of 3 years business experience is recommended.
