“25 years of shared values”

EY renews long-standing alumni partnership

We were very pleased to see one of our longest-standing partners, EY, renew his engagement with our alumni community recently. Marc Cosaert, who is the driving force behind the partnership, looks back on “25 years of shared values”.

Why did EY opt for an alumni partnership?

Marc Cosaeert: “For EY, the alumni partnership with Vlerick is an important leverage in terms of employer branding, networking and content sharing. When I look back on the past 25 years, I may say that it’s been 25 years of shared values. That like-minded outlook on the ever-changing world around us is also reflected in the fact that Vlerick has a seat in the jury of our event ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’.

What does EY get out of this partnership?

Marc Cosaert: “Every year, we recruit 3 to 5 Vlerick alumni, junior as well as senior profiles. Vlerick alumni blend well within the diverse and high-performing teams we have here at EY. And we find those good matches during the many networking events. Besides that, the large-scale events like the Vlerick Award and the Global Alumni Winter Reunion give us a lot of visibility. But of course, this alumni partnership goes hand in hand with the Prime Foundation Partnership we have with the School. More specifically, the joint research on entrepreneurship we have been doing with Professor Hans Crijns and KBC within iGMO.”

If you were to describe Vlerick in 1 word, what would that be?

Marc Cosaert: “Picking just one word is hard. Allow me to say that this partnership boils down to 4 things: intra- and entrepreneurship, passion, forward-looking and diversity.”
