  2. In memoriam: Nigel Roome

    It is with profound sadness that we share the news that our former colleague and friend Nigel Roome passed away after a long fight against cancer. Nigel was a Vlerick Partner and Professor from 2010, when he joined us from TIAS and Solvay, until 2014, when he became a part time Research Fellow at the school. At Vlerick Nigel directed the fulltime MBA for two years, but above all he was the person personifying and animating the School’s efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility, including the leadership of major EU funded projects.

  3. Vlerick in the top 15 of best business schools in Europe

    According to the 2015 European Business Schools ranking which is annually issued by the Financial Times newspaper, Vlerick Business School has gained 1 place. The School rises from 16 to 15 in Europe, thus re-entering the top 15 of 85 European business schools in total. From a national point of view, Vlerick Business School maintains its first position in Belgium. Overall, Vlerick has managed to hold a stable position during the last few years.

  4. Current safety measures at our Brussels campus

    The terror alarm has been lowered to level 3, and all schools and public transport in Brussels will be functioning normally again. However, the Manhattan Centre together with Vlerick Business School will continue to put safety first by maintaining several extra security measurements at the Brussels Campus. From Monday 30/11 until Friday 4/12 our campus will have limited opening hours: from 8 am until 10.30 pm. During the weekend of 5 and 6 December the campus will be closed.

    Recently, the Belgian business newspaper De Tijd published a list of 50 Belgian entrepreneurs, researchers, engineers and marketers who want to revolutionise an entire sector with their innovation. In particular, Vlerick would like to send warm congratulations to pioneers Bart Van der Roost (NeoScores), who holds an Executive MBA from Vlerick, and Wiet van de Velde (Palletkraft).

  7. Entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs in Nicaragua

    25 enthusiastic Flemish entrepreneurs who have their own company are teaming with Vredeseilanden for a week to help entrepreneurs in Nicaragua. In the context of the ‘Ondernemers fietsen voor ondernemers’ (Entrepreneurs biking for entrepreneurs) project, they are travelling across the country on mountain bikes. This gives them plenty of time to talk with local entrepreneurs and to become familiar with the local operation and organisation of Vredeseilanden, a Belgian NGO that helps farmers in developing countries earn a liveable income from sustainable agriculture.

  8. New Saint Petersburg campus officially open

    The new Vlerick campus in Saint Petersburg was officially inaugurated on Wednesday 28 January. A select group of local government representatives, HR directors and corporate university managers attended a panel discussion on the role of executive education in overcoming the mismatch between knowledge and competence in the management arena. Marina Lipetskaya (Director of the foundation ‘Center for Strategic Research North-West’), Valentin Makarov (President of RusSoft) and Irina Snegova (Director of Strategic Projects at Rosengineering) participated in the debate which was moderated by Vlerick professor Dirk Buyens.

  10. New Chairman and Vice Chairman for Vlerick Business School

    On 15 October the General Council of Vlerick Business School appointed Roch Doliveux and Frank Donck as the new chairman and new vice chairman of Vlerick Business School, respectively. They will replace Louis Verbeke, who is retiring after having been chairman of Vlerick Business School for 17 years.
