  1. Baton passing at Vlerick Business School : Board proposal to General Council

    Today, on 1 October, the Board of Directors of Vlerick Business School decided to nominate Roch Doliveux and Frank Donck as the new chairman and new vice chairman of Vlerick Business School, respectively. They will replace Louis Verbeke, who is retiring after having been chairman of Vlerick Business School since 1997. The Board wants to thank Louis Verbeke for his longstanding commitment and unique positive impact on the development of the School and unanimously appointed him to Honorary Chairman.

    Yesterday evening, Vlerick Business School and KU Leuven jointly awarded an honorary doctorate to Professor Justin Yifu Lin in Brussels, in recognition of his role as one of China’s leading economists. The official opening of Vlerick Business School’s new academic year was held at the same time, with students and various guests in attendance. 361 Masters ad MBA students are beginning their studies this year.

    AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – has recently decided to extend its accreditation for the management programmes offered by Vlerick Business School for a further period of five years. Having received the AACSB accreditation for the first time in 2004, this is the third time in a row that Vlerick Business School receives as five year extension.

    Daphne Aers of TNS in Eeklo, Widukind Stockmans of Studio Pieter Stockmans in Genk, and Hilde Peerlings of Groep Delorge-Peerlings in Hasselt are the finalists of the 15th edition of the WOMED Award (Women in Enterprise and Development). This prize for the female entrepreneur of the year is awarded annually by Markant vzw and UNIZO and rewards female entrepreneurs who have successfully run their own business as their main occupation for at least five years. As event partner of the WOMED Award, Vlerick Business School is awarding the winner with participation in an SME Excellence programme.

  10. New European Sales competition wants to be the start of real sales education in Europe

    After the example of the National Collegiate Sales Competition in the US Vlerick Business School together with a consortium of 3 other universities and 1 technology park has launched a new sales competition at a European level. The first edition will take place on 5 and 6 June 2014 in Poznan (Poland). With this initiative Vlerick and its partner schools are pioneering since no other similar competition exists in Europe up until now.
