Topical event

What happens when more than 3,000 scientists from 86 countries join forces to map every single cell in the human body? They’re attempting to build the Human Cell Atlas, a detailed blueprint of our body that could fundamentally change how we diagnose and treat disease.

Join the Alumni Senior and Healthcare Club for a presentation on this groundbreaking and pioneering research.

This global collaboration is not just a scientific milestone; it’s poised to spark a real revolution in medicine. Here in Ghent, researchers are even working on growing immune cells with an artificial organ to fight cancer – bringing the future of treatment right to our doorstep.

What can you expect from this exclusive afternoon?

  • Attend a presentation on the Human Cell Atlas and its potential to deepen our understanding of the human body.
  • Join an exclusive guided tour of the VIB-UGent Center for Inflammation Research and discover the research environment first-hand.
  • Network with fellow alumni and healthcare professionals at the closing reception.

If you’re leading in healthcare, life sciences, policy, or simply want to stay ahead of the curve, this visit offers a unique, on-the-ground perspective on where medicine is heading.
